The air bag in the car has saved Mrs. Hema Malini from serious injuries.
Driver of the vehicle carrying the actress was arrested and has been released on bail.
Nearly twelve lakh people have died in road accidents in India.
Though the Govt figures say about lakh are killed every year in India, WHO figures say it is close to two lakh fifty thousand.
Only when a politician or a film star is involved in a road accident, the question of safe driving comes up.
When Shri. Gopinath Munde,  was killed in an accident, Government decided to bring in stringent norms for safe driving and a law with about 45 sections was proposed, after many dilutions, the law has now 5 sections and is still not passed in the parliament.

Chairperson appointed for FTII Mr. Giriraj Chauhan, is not acceptable to the student fraternity at FTII.
They are asking about the credentials of the appointed.
Students say with due respect to Mr. Giriraj, please compare his credentials with the former Chairperson(s)- Shri Girish Karnad, Shri Shyam Benegal, Shri Mrinlal Sen Shri Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
Mr. Giriraj played the role of Yudishtra in the famous serial Mahabharta in the TV.
Today(Friday) I&B ministers met with a section of the students. Along with them were famous FTII Alumnus including Oscar winning Shri Resul Pookutty.(sound engineer).
Talks were inconclusive.
Mr. Giriraj on being asked (during prime time news by India Today TV Anchor Shri. Rajdeep Sardesai) whether he would step down; answered that he would step down only if the Government Of India asks him to.

The India Today magazine published an issue with cover story “Top Colleges in India” after a survey of Top colleges in India in various streams.
Almost at the same time the magazine India Today hit the stands, the TV channel of the group aired a discussion on the survey and its findings.
St. Stephens College is the top college in Commerce stream.
Principal of the college has reportedly asked a research scholar to withdraw her complaint against a professor of the college if she needed to complete the thesis work. The research scholar had complained to the principal that she was victim of repeated harassment by her guide (who is a professor in St. Stephens College).
Principal has reportedly said the audio tape with the said recordings is “doctored”.
From Kerala state,
Sacred Heart College, Thevara, Kochi finds a place within the first 30 top colleges in Commerce and Science stream.
*NIT Calicut- 13th in the Engineering, NUALS Kaloor(KOCHI)- 18th  in the Law Stream.
St. Teresas College Kochi also placed in top 30 colleges.

Tamil remake of Malayalam movie- Drishyam is reportedly well made with all necessary make believe to appeal to audiences across TN.
