30 women in Power- (Book) edited by Mrs. Naina Lal Kidwai

A compilation of articles penned by Indian women who have made a name for themselves in their respective chosen areas of work/passion.

This compilation has articles penned by women who have excelled themselves in diverse fields Law (Mrs Zia Mody) to Journalism (Ms Sherheen Bhan) to Banking  (Mrs. Chanda Kochhar) to government (Mrs. Nirupama Rao)

Mrs. Naina Lal Kidwai has put down her thoughts too. The compilation does not include women who have excelled in Politics, Sports and Movie world. Editor says if these three fields were chosen – one would have had to include some many women- that the compilation would run up many volumes.

Mrs. Naina Lal Kidwai, first woman to be appointed as an articled clerk- (training done as part of the Chartered Accountancy course) in PwC, first Indian woman to graduate from the prestigious Harvard Business School was elected as president of FICCI for the year 2013. Across many stages she was asked about plight of women in India, how hard it must have been to break through Gender bastions. That was the year India had more women CEOs in the banking sector than any other country.

December 2012- One morning entire nation was shocked to learn what happened to a young woman- physiotherapy student in New Delhi – Nirbhaya.

This editor attributes this event as the backdrop of this book.

In appreciation of the book Ms.Christine Lagrade (MD -IMF)

“…..testimony to the strength and acumen of Indian Women…”
